Last week I was out of town on a business trip, but hoped to get caught up on Info Island duties early this week. Alas, this wasn't the case. Pretty much the moment I got back I found out that I need to make another trip, this one out of state and personal (missing cats and problematic mother-in-law, long story.) This means I have to try to squish all my RL tasks into the part of the week before I leave on Friday. While away I will have only intermittent connectivity. Net result: little time for SL.
I hope to be back on schedule by the end of the month. This includes getting the new Wordpress blog up-to-speed, solving the most pressing issues on the Drupal Website To-Do list, and writing a tutorial to make it easier for SL Lib staff to take advantage of the site.

Another security upgrade was necessary and it went off without a hitch - as far as I can determine - in the wee hours of Friday morning, SLT. Took about 10 minutes this time :)
I created a new level of access recently: partners. It's for people who aren't directly involved in the project but whom we trust enough to comment without administrative approval, etc.
Which brings to mind an issue that's been in the back of my mind: this site is at infoisland.org and the island is more than just the Libraries 2.0. Do we then want to integrate content from other organizations housed there? (This is the part where I once again ask people to *please* let me know what you'd like to see here. What is working and what isn't?)

The lovely and talented Seraphima has graciously taken a look at the site CSS and is working on a new theme for infoisland.org.

You can see the theme in progress by going to the My Account page, choosing the Edit tab and then selecting the "sl_chameleon" theme. Let me know if you have questions about this process.
UPDATE 5/31/06: The above will work now. Must remember to view site as non-admin before I post instructions. D'oh.

The titles of new entries from blogs hosted here are currently shown in the right-hand column, btw, along with feeds from Greg's blog and from our official blogspot page. If someone else here has an offsite blog let me know and I can put its feed in with the others - or just a link, if you'd rather.
Also, I figured out how to keep my local blog posts from cluttering the front page: It's under "Publishing options" when you create a blog entry. I'll try to get "Promoted to front page" unchecked by default. Done!
