SEANCHAI LIBRARY
Scenes from Macbeth for St. Andrew’s Day
Wednesday, 30 November, 2011
7:00pm - 8:00pm SLT
Where: Seanchai Library
http://slurl.com/secondlife/Imagination%20Island/46/211/28
Description:
The Seanchai Library celebrates St Andrew's Day (patron Saint of Scotland) with a twist, presenting selections from Shakespeare's The Tragedy of MacBeth (generally known simply as Macbeth). While inspired by accounts from Scottish history in Holinshed's Chronicles (1587), which would have been know to Shakespeare in his day, the events of the story actually have little relationship to their actual historical counterparts. MacBeth is less about scotland and more a study of ambition, fate, and consequences. It is Shakespeare's shortest tragedy, and is considered by many critics to be his most economically and tightly woven tale. Selections from MacBeth will be presented in voice by Kayden Oconnell and Caledonia Skytower.
